Description

(Note: The profit/hr calculation is based on my own character which is fairly slow and only completes 1map in about 8-10 mins. For Strong/Fast characters that can clear maps quickly the profit/hr will raise significantly. I have included a variation of this atlas at the bottom of the description with faster characters in mind)

But why no scarabs?!

I found scarabs to be incredibly annoying to sell, either taking small trades and having to leave your map constantly to sell scarabs, or bulk selling them at a lower priced discount in order to compete with other bulk sellers. On top of that, the value of scarabs has been driven down since EVERYONE is farming scarabs, and I'm beginning to feel it's becoming harder and harder at this stage of the league for a 'normal' scarab farming strategy to be particularly competitive or profitable, in my opinion.

That said, I'm aware that some players have success with scarab farming - it's just not for me, and I wanted to try something else.

Removing all the scarab chance nodes frees up a ton of atlas points, allowing us to take more league mechanics on each map, increasing the profit per map quite drastically.

This is a fairly straightforward strategy, do-able by any build capable of doing T16's without much issue.

Not particularly stacking quant/map explicit effect, although you can do that if you want, removing the delve nodes. This will make the maps a bit harder since you lose the maxres/movespeed/%dmg bonus from the 'packed with energy' atlas notable, and the map mods become more amplified from the map explicit effect.

Blight

Underground River is my personal favourite map for this strategy since the Blight only ever has 2 lanes and is easy to defend the pump on any build as long as you understand how to place towers (although this map may not be to everyones liking, it can be fairly long from one end of the map to the other. Since were not going for any kind of div card farming strategy, any map should work, though).

There are multiple youtube videos on blight tower mechanics so I wont write in so much detail here, except if your build lacks damage/clear potential you will need the ring anoints:

Indigo + Violet (Burning ground Meteor Towers) Ring 1

Silver + Opalescent (Chilling beams freeze) Ring 2

Make sure not to roll any map that has the 'monsters cannot be stunned' or 'monsters action speed cannot be lowered below base value' mods if you don't have the damage to deal with a blight encounter without building towers.

Harvest

Harvest is a bit more complicated since we're using the Crop Rotation keystone. You want to target farm yellow juice by opening as many blue/purple plots as possible before opening your yellow plots, to upgrade yellow to its maximum potential before opening. If you get a harvest with a lot of yellow and only 1/2 blue or purple plots, open the yellow plots first instead (upgrading the blue/purple) so you're still getting something. Upgraded blue plots can be very rippy since they have shotgun/1shot mechanics - so ideally do these plots first and avoid upgrading them unless you have to.

Delve

Open the sulphite veins as you run through the map and get bonus +1maxres, 15% movespeed and 35% increased damage per sulphite vein opened (maximum 3 veins for +3maxres, 45% Movespeed, 105% inc. Dmg). Occasionally you will get some free azurite and delve-specific div cards too, which is a nice bonus to have on the side.

Searing Exarch

You don't particularly need to do two passes of the map for the Exarch altars (I never do, I just open the blight+harvest when I find them) but any bonus to quantity is always good, plus potentially some other exarch pack rewards like "Eldritch minions have x% increased chance to drop chaos orbs" often appear. Killing the boss after 28 map completions rewards an exarch invitation which bumps up the average profit when you get it.

Increased map tier chance

The boss also seems to have a somewhat decent chance of dropping t17/conqueror maps too, since we take all of the '1-15 maps have % chance to drop 1 tier higer' nodes. 'Bold Undertakings' Keystone is not taken for any reason other than to get more of these small passives that give higher map tier chance, but you can run fortune favours the brave (FFTB) map crafting option for 6c if you really want to get as much as possible mechanics per map. Personally I find the map ends up taking absolutely forever with FFTB, and doesnt seem to add much value, but some people might not mind it I guess.

If you do decide to use FFTB map crafting option, I would also remove a single small passive from the central 'item quantity and rarity' circle, and take the 'Overloaded Circuits' Keystone on the opposite side of the FFTB cluster (Disclaimer: I haven't tested Overloaded Circuits/FFTB in my strategy often enough to verify its profitability. Do so at your own risk).

Final notes

As I mentioned at the start, I have a pretty slow 'tank' build and only 1.5mil dps, and takes me about 8~10 mins per map. Fast builds will probably complete in about half that time, or if you don't full clear the map (only doing the harvest/blight and then leaving) - this may reduce your per map profit, but overall its not an expensive per-map cost so it should still be more 'per-hour' profit to do leave the map early, if you have a fast build.

For Stronger & Faster characters, this atlas will be more profitable: https://poeplanner.com/a/P7Q
The idea behind it is that you skip most enemies (except exarch packs for the altars) and simply rush the harvest and blight as quickly as possible. Delve and most map nodes have been removed and replaced with quantity and increased map effect.

Anyway I spent far too much time writing this and not enough time FARMING this so... Good luck out there, and stay safe, exile.
